Each month we pose questions from the Sun Coast Community to our resident health and skincare expert, Dr. Mark Rosenberg.
In this July edition of 'Ask Me Anything', Dr. Rosenberg discusses how to avoid the hollowed out, gaunt look caused by weight loss jabs…
What you can do to help a relative who often looks lost and confused...
And a 10 second fingertip test that tells you if an eye cream is high quality, or just a glorified moisturizer.
Let’s dive in.
Question 1: “What can I do to avoid “Ozempic Face”?
It’s the latest side effect everyone is talking about.
The appearance of thinner cheeks, a gaunt look, and hollowed out eyes - collectively known as "Ozempic face".
See, when you rapidly lose weight, it’s not just fat that gets lost.
It’s also muscle tissue, collagen, and elastin… all of which your skin needs to sustain its shape. And when all this “skin scaffolding” is stripped away, the skin becomes saggy, wrinkly, and loose.
In fact, the problem of saggy skin due to rapid weight loss has led to a surge in people going for fillers to offset the damage.
So how can you lose weight without wrecking the structure of your skin?
Well, it's not sexy… it's not exciting… and you probably don’t want to hear it…
But the ONLY way to lose weight that doesn’t result in wrinkly, saggy skin is to do it GRADUALLY.
Losing weight gradually is the best way to slim down without causing sagging all over your body (yes, I’m talking about your breasts and butt too).
So rather than rapid weight loss, I recommend you do these three things:
- Eat more protein - It fills you up, gives you more energy, and helps sustain muscle mass.
- Exercise with resistance bands - You can do it in front of your favorite Netflix show to burn up fat.
-
Avoid ultra processed foods (UPFs) - Along with weight gain, UPFs cause inflammation. So eat whole, nutrient-dense foods instead.
Now, I know that changing your diet is easier said than done… and cravings for your favorite carb heavy snacks are tough to ignore.
So in combination with the three steps I recommend, try taking AMPAlive just before meals as well.
AMPAlive is specially formulated to activate the AMPK enzyme - an enzyme that controls your body’s ability to turn carbs and sugars into fuel.
So by taking AMPAlive before meals, you can convert more of the carbs and sugars you do eat into energy, rather than fat.
Question 2: “I have a relative who often looks lost and confused. Is it just down to aging? What can I do to help them?”
It’s painful to watch.
Seeing a cherished loved one looking lost, confused, and like they’re losing their mind.
It’s happening to more and more people as they get older. And there are lots of reasons why.
But one of the key causes of a rapidly aging brain is a lack of one key mineral: Magnesium.
See, Magnesium is the brain’s #1 building block.
It’s Magnesium that’s used to repair and rebuild the neural paths along which your thoughts and emotions zip around like tiny bolts of lightning.
But without enough Magnesium, these neural paths break apart.
Your thoughts, memories and emotions then get jumbled up… and even lost altogether.
Due to modern industrial farming methods, most of the Magnesium content in food has been stripped away. Which explains why 1 in 2 people are deficient… AND why rates of severe brain fog and memory loss are so alarmingly high.
It’s for this reason I developed my brain boosting shake AccuThink.
AccuThink features an ultra pure dose of MagTein - a special type of magnesium that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and nourish the brain.
Due to the fact it’s a shake, AccuThink delivers a higher concentration of MagTein to your brain than capsules, or any supplement you may have tried.
In fact, it’s so potent, the MagTein in every scoop of AccuThink is clinically proven to give you the speed of thought and memory recall you enjoyed 9 years ago.
Question 3: “How can I tell if an eye serum is high quality? And not just a glorified moisturizer”
Eye creams are one of the hardest formulas to get right.
They need to contain enough active ingredients to fade the look of eye bags, crow’s feet, and dark circles…
While being gentle enough for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Which is why, most beauty brands put their focus on the second objective.
They use gentle ingredients like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and retinol. It’s true, these ingredients CAN help to fade wrinkles. But in most eye creams they’re often so watered down the cream is little better than a moisturizer.
Here’s how you can tell if an eye cream is high quality or just a glorified moisturizer…
Apply a pea sized drop to your thumb and rub it with your index finger.
If it feels heavy and greasy, that tells you it contains more moisturizing ingredients than anti-aging ones.
In which case, look for eye creams that say “serum” on the label.
The difference between eye creams and serums is that a serum contains ingredients able to penetrate the skin at a deeper layer. Serums also contain ingredients chosen for their ability to target specific aging eye signs, like puffiness, dark circles, or fine lines.
Well, this is exactly the consideration that went into formulating Complete Eye Serum.
Complete Eye Serum contains key ingredients selected for their ability to address the four key aging eye signs, and in as little as 5 minutes:
- Instantly smooth out the look of fine lines
- Tighten the state of drooping eyelids and eyebags
- Relive that puffy, “I just cried for an hour” look
- Brighten up the appearance of fluids and dark circles
So if you’re fed up of wasting money on eye creams that barely fade a single eye wrinkle, give Complete Eye Serum a try risk free for 365 days.
